Great holidays!
My name is Jon Morgan and I live in Wigan, Lancashire. I have cerebral palsy and am in a wheelchair.
Twice a year one of the Pontins holiday centres in Southport gives us all a fantastic time. The Blue Coats know me well and treat me like one of the gang. They don’t look at my disability as a put-off but they know that ‘disability doesn’t mean inability.’
While I was on holiday my brother-in-law and I went into one of the bars and he said to me, “Would you like to go swimming in the morning?” I haven’t been swimming for twenty years and I thought he was joking. He wasn’t! We made our way to the pool. On the entrance door it told us to go to Leisure Zone see if someone could come down to operate the chair lift.
Eventually we got into the water and we had a fantastic time with an inflatable tyre. What a great holiday!
